Team
In Loving Memory of Lior Tarshansky (2007–2023)
Our commitment to this mission is deepened through our membership in Next October. Born from the tragedy of the October 2023 war, Next October is a global initiative created by the Shay family in memory of their son Yaron, who fought bravely on October 7th. Next October is dedicated to transforming national grief into sustainable progress by fostering the creation of over 1,800 startups, each dedicated to commemorating a brave soul lost during the war.
By integrating Lior’s maturity and compassion into the heart of Ozz Health, we ensure that his light continues to guide the way toward more empathetic and effective healthcare.
Lior, or “Liori” to his classmates, the son of Reuma and Ilya, was born in Kibbutz Be’eri on October 24, 2007. He was a young man who embodied a beautiful world of contrasts: on the one hand, he was a true “Mogli” — a barefoot child of nature with long hair and a playful, infectious spirit; on the other hand, he was a mature “Mensch,” possessed of a rare inner silence and a depth that allowed him to truly see everyone around him.
Lior was connected with every fiber of his soul to the land of the Kibbutz. He grew into a vibrant young man, filled with vitality and joy. His daily life was defined by the outdoors — trekking through the fields and sharing coffee with his closest friends. At Nofei HaBesor High School, he stood out as an exceptional student with a sharp mind. He achieved his goals in his own unique way: without fanfare, but with the quiet self-assurance of someone who knew exactly who he was.
Lior didn’t just want to be part of the landscape; he wanted to contribute to it. As a youth leader, he took responsibility for twenty younger students with immense pride and dedication, rising early for preparations and serving as a true source of inspiration. He had an open heart for the unique needs of his peers, knowing how to contain their struggles and provide a safe, steady harbor for them.
To his family — his parents and his sisters, Eden and Gali — Lior was the compass. He never compromised on his values and stood firm in the face of injustice. For the year and a half before he was taken, his family watched him blossom in his first love with Omer. Lior loved to experience the world in full, from diving in the depths of the sea to cheering in the stands of Sammy Ofer Stadium as a devoted Maccabi Haifa fan.
His friends recall that he was the person they always turned to for advice, trust, and a listening ear. His mother, Reuma, believes Lior would have grown to be a therapist, gifted with natural sensitivity, the ability to contain others, and a one-of-a-kind sense of humor.
On October 7, 2023, at just 15 years old, Lior was murdered in his home in Be’eri while protecting his family in their safe room. His sister, Gali, was kidnapped to Gaza and returned to Israel after 54 days in captivity.
At Ozz Health, we draw our inspiration from Lior’s maturity, his compassion, and his innate ability to truly see the person in front of him. The systems we develop are designed to preserve this spirit — a spirit of companionship, genuine care, and deep empathy — exactly as Lior was for his family, his friends, and his students.
